For the past 40 years, Robert Sonneman of Sonneman Lighting has been pioneering the concept of contemporary lighting designs using a full integration of form and function utilizing simple shapes to create structural eye candy. Though the emphasis is contemporary in nature, Sonneman designs variably carry wisps of Art Deco, Art Nouveau and of course modernism, collectively creating an incredible continuum of contemporary designs that have received world-wide recognition in magazines, museums and international exhibitions. Sonneman's ever expanding understanding of contemporary art has created a variety of lighting designs that are constantly forcing people to redefine the contemporary concept.
